A Community of Caring (Solomon Schechter visit to UJC of MetroWest)

On May 17, 2007 the sixth grade class from Solomon Schechter of Essex and Union came to learn about the United Jewish Communities of MetroWest, NJ and all the beneficiary agencies within it as part of a program called Gil Mitzvot: A Community of Caring.  The students were taken on a brief tour of the campus which includes the UJC offices, Lester Senior Housing, The Partnership for Jewish Learning and Life, and the New Jersey Jewish News.  After touring the grounds, small groups of students heard about the work of a number of agencies.  At the end of the program they were addressed my Max Kleinman, Executive Vice President of the UJC of MetroWest.

Agencies which met with the students: JCC MetroWest, Jewish Family Service, Jewish Historical Society, The Partnership, Friendship Circle, Jewish Vocational Service, Daughters of Israel, New Jersey Jewish News, Jewish Service for the Developmentally Disabled, Legow Israel Program Center and the Joint Chaplaincy Committee.
