JCI at DOI

Today the Jewish Civics Initiative group from Central Hebrew High School went to Daughters of Israel for a visit. The teens were there to develop relationships with some of the residents. This was the first of three visits.

The residents were very happy to recieve the teens, and the teens were likewise effected by their visit. Our next visit will be on April 22, 2007 as part of J-Serve.

Here’s a few pictures.

  1. Matt Davis Says:

There are few things that I do that involve CHHS that I can say that not only do I not regret, but I feel that I came out with something. The trip with JCI to Daughters with Israel is one of those things. The fact that we were able to go one-on-one with a senior and really brighten their day actually brightened mine and others on the trip. I learned a lot from the person I spoke with, and it is really true that older folk have a whole lot more wisdom than we do.

This is up there with the best classes I’ve taken in my four years of hebrew high school.
